Boston Massachusetts Boston Celtics

The 2019-20 season will be the 74th for the Boston Celtics in the NBA. The first few weeks of an NBA season have been an up and down for them, but the Celtics haven't given up.

The Celtics have won 11 of the National Basketball Association's 13 championships from 1957 to 1969 and 13 of the last 14 NBA championships. Powered by Bill Russell and coached by the likes of Larry Bird, Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Kevin McHale, all now Hall of Famers, the Celtics have won 11 NBA championships in 13 years.

The Celtics won two more titles in the 1970s and ended the decade by securing Larry Bird through the 1979 NBA Draft. Boston got one of the most dominant players in NBA history and arguably the greatest player of all time - when they selected Sharpshot's Larry Bird with the first overall pick in this year's NBA Draft.

Rivers won a championship in his eight years in Boston but didn't lead the Celtics to the East title. The green-blooded Heinsohn followed him as head coach for Boston when he was 10, and Jones returned to them to work as assistant coach for the second time. Boston made five three-pointers, led by 17, and held Miami to a field goal.

The Celtics had to behave in their own misery to score enough points, and they did so in the second half.

Boston is relatively young, but they don't seem able to execute the game around the crowd like the Nets. I'm cautiously optimistic, but there's no doubt the Celtics will have trouble keeping bad teams out. The new season will be a new challenge for the Boston Celtics, who must prove they are tough.

The Celtics were led by a lot of legendary head coaches, but one of the best ever to make it was none other than Red Auerbach, who led his time in the league. The New York native was head coach at the University of Chicago, where he won eight consecutive titles. Basketball, however, is a team game, and there are many teams that are capable of reaching an NBA Finals if they make it.

The Celtics would win 41 games next season but drop out in the first round, and Garnett and Pierce were both with the Nets about two months later. The Celtics returned to the finals in the 2007-08 season under the leadership of former Boston Celtics star and future Hall of Famer Ray Allen. Also bebe a former Celtics team that had many successes, like the 1990 - 91, 1992 - 93, 1993 - 94, 1995 - 96, 1996 - 97, 1997 - 98, 1998 - 99, 1999 - 2000, 2000 - 01, 2001 - 02, 2002 - 03, 2003 - 04, 2004 - 05, 2005 - 06, 2006 - 07, 2008 - 09, 2009 - 10 and 2010 - 11.

The Boston Celtics could have been in luck with the remaining eight games for the championship, but the Celtics lost the series to the Miami Heat in four games in an unusually different season. The Celtics and 76ers played in Game 7, and both teams' seasons ended in the first round, with the Celtics losing four Game One to the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Sixers in three games.

The Celtics have gone out of the playoffs with a first-round loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers and a win over the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Celtics have won more NBA championships than any other team and have eliminated more than any other team. Every NBA team has benefited from the absence of a hostile environment and everyone has been in Boston and spoken for themselves.
