Unique Boston Wedding Venues: Creative Places to Get Married

While an old-school church wedding is a no-brainer, there are a slew of unique Boston wedding venues scattered throughout the area for those looking to tie the knot. In fact, the whole “something borrowed, something blue” cliché may include a Red Sox jersey and a baseball cap. Here’s a lineup of four unique Boston wedding venues for those planning an atypical New England ceremony:

Fenway Park
Die-hard Red Sox fans can host their only-in-Boston wedding at Fenway Park. Yep, the Yawkey Way landmark offers several first-class venues that can accommodate up to 5,000 guests including the home-plate accessible EMC club and the historical State Street Pavilion. For those wanting a killer view of the Boston skyline, rent out the Budweiser Right Field Roof Deck which overlooks the retired numbers of some of baseball’s legendary players. There are additional perks to having a Red Sox wedding including a private tour of Fenway Park, a visit from Wally, the Green Monster and a message on the center-field message board.

Boston Public Garden
The lush beauty of Boston’s premier botanical park is the perfect backdrop for those planning a small ceremony and wanting memorable photos that scream Boston. Unfortunately, wedding nuptials aren't permitted on the swan boats, but many couples hop on the iconic water ride dating back to 1870 for photos. City of Boston residents must apply for a $50 permit to use the pubic park for their ceremony.

Old State House
This icon of national history nestled in the center of Boston's Financial District is a popular location for American Revolutionary War buffs looking to get hitched. Yep, the building can be rented out for weddings and the nuptials are usually held in the Council Chamber on the second floor, where patriotic couples can be seen getting their wedding photos snapped from the building's famous balcony.

Arnold Arboretum
The 265-acre park in Jamaica Plain designed by Frederick Law Olmstead and the second largest link to Boston's Emerald Necklace is a popular place for wedding ceremonies. It’s common to see locals getting hitched during the change of season and, of course, in June. For those wanting to tie the knot on a budget, it’s free to conduct small, intimate wedding ceremonies with less than 40 guests at the park.
