Chapel Hill Chauncy Hall School Reviews

Good hearted teachers for the most part. Head Master is obsessed with the Theory of Multiple Intelligences as applied to education, even though research does not back it. School is currently raising money to build a new school that will be designed with the different multiple intelligences in mind! I wonder if the donors know that their money is going towards funding an untested idea? Students here are basically average to slightly below average. Another long term teacher(no longer there) indicated that Chapel Hill should really label itself as a school that deals with kids that have special needs.

This school is a great place for students who do not thrive in a large high school institutional setting. Smaller classrooms and really good caring teachers are what 'worked' for our child. Each student gets an advisor who stays on top of their advisees for the most part- also the learning center helped with homework and study habits. I think that having several international students is a big plus. Campus is beautiful- some of the buildings are older but I think upgrading is on-going. Our child has done very well in college, and he has kept in touch with some of his favorite teachers.
