The center of the music scene for under 30’s is Central Square in Cambridge.  Rock, disco and alternative music pour out onto the streets in nightclubs along Landsdowne Street, near Kenmore Square and on Boylston Place near Boston Common. There’s always a jig in progress in Boston Irish pubs. Coffeehouses around Boston and Harvard Square are fertile ground for up and coming folk musicians.
